Six years ago, in 2018, I was staying up late at night to finish coursework toward my Talented and Gifted Endorsement through online classes at University of Iowa. Now, I actually am teaching TAG in our local school district 20 hours a week. I have a chance to put some of my ideas into practice, and one of those ideas is that RURAL schools aren’t completely disadvantaged. If we can look at the ways rural schools are positioned to meet individual student’s interests and learning needs, we can change the narrative and content ourselves with what we already have. This academic paper expounds on that (for seven pages).
